5 Things You Didn’t Know About President Joe Biden

Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States, a fact most of you already know. But what about things you didn’t know about the current President of the free world? Joe Biden is undoubtedly one of the most famous politicians in the US. He was the Vice President of Barack Obama, but he has also been in politics since 1972.

With that kind of pedigree, it’s natural to assume that Joe Biden is a popular figure in Washington. So if you’re looking to enrichen your essay on the 46th President, here are five things you didn’t know about Joe Biden.

He Used To Stutter

A lot of kids suffer from stuttering. It is said that 1 out of every 20 kids stutters. While the condition might be disheartening to many children, did you know that Joe Biden also used to stutter? Stuttering isn’t that serious and it’s easy to overcome it. According to Nationwide Children’s, 75 -80% of all children overcome it. And just so it happened that one of these children became the 46th President of the United States.

In his 2008 speech to the American Institute for Stuttering, Joe said that he used to get bullied in school for it. Even one teacher made fun of him. Joe said that it made him feel weak and vulnerable. But he overcame the condition and is Biden is now a strong supporter of the Amerian Institute For Stuttering.

He Was Big On Football

Like most Americans, Joe Biden loves watching football. During his high school days, Joe was a wide receiver and halfback. He was even the leading scorer for his high school. The school’s coach even said that he was quite skinny and that it was a miracle he could catch so many passes. His record is scoring eight touchdowns in eight games. For high school football standards, that is seriously impressive.

While Joe eventually turned to politics, he had the potential to be a football superstar.

He Is A True American Hero

It’s common for politicians to get a bad rep. After all, they’re in charge of everything and are meant to serve the people. But American politics seem to work the opposite way. Throughout the years, we’ve seen politicians looking only after themselves and enact policies that only harm the American people.

These claims were also levied at Joe Bide. And these claims aren’t certainly baseless. Joe has been in politics for most of his life. His latter years in politics are some of his most controversial. The Obama-Biden administration isn’t the most popular one. But the Biden-Harris even less so.

When he first announced he would run for President, the American people were shocked at his campaign logo. Namely, Presiden Biden’s campaign logo has 3 red banners. This symbol was popular with Chinese communists. When Mao Zedong led the communist revolution, the dictator used the “3 red banners” symbol as a communist symbol. Since Joe Biden also has the banner on his logo, Americans were skeptical as to what it truly meant.

But Joe Biden is a real American hero, and the 3 red banners mean something else entirely to what the opposition insinuated. If you’re interested in that, here is what the 3 red banners mean.

He Loves A Chevy

Let’s be real about it; there are far better car brands than Chevrolet. But Chevrolet is an American brand with a long and rich history. Considering Joe Biden is a die-hard American, it’s pretty natural to assume he would own a Chevy. And he does indeed own one – a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Corvette Stingray is a real sportscar.

It’s fast, reliable, and most importantly, American. His love for his car is the reason why many car enthusiasts voted for him. But sadly, Joe is approaching the latter years of his life, and he doesn’t drive the Chevy too much nowadays. Collectors have offered huge amounts of money to buy the car from him. But he rejects them time and time again.

His love for his old Stingray is stronger than many would assume.

His Story Is Quite Tragic

Some of you probably know that Jill Biden isn’t Joe’s first wife. That would be Neilia. Unfortunately, this story doesn’t have a happy ending. In 1972, Neilia and Joe’s 13-month-old daughter were in a car accident. Both died, and that left the Biden family devastated. Losing a wife is hard enough, but imagine the horror Joe Biden had to go through to overcome the passing of his 13-month-old daughter.

It broke Joe and made him contemplate life. But Joe wasn’t going to give up. He still had Beau and Hunter to look after. And just like any other dad, he overcome the pain and was sworn into office in 1973. Both of his sons were also in the accident and were left badly injured. He was sworn as a United States Senator at the bedsides of his two remaining sons.
