IDEAS AND INSPIRATION FOR HOSTING A BRUNCH PARTY AT HOME

by Carter Toni

Brunch is a wonderful mix of breakfast and lunch, with a side of chatting, sipping beverages, and sampling new cuisine. What could be better than that?

If you’re hosting a brunch party at home, whether in your dining room or in your backyard, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Hosting brunch is a demanding and enjoyable event, from planning the meal and drinks to providing music and décor.

Are you ready to throw a great brunch party for your friends and family? Understand the basic etiquette principles of a good host and how to make your party a smash hit.

SELECT A THEME.

Decide on a brunch party theme before you start preparing the food and drinks. You don’t have to go all out, but if you want a lovely table setting, you should choose a theme and a colour palette to match.

Decorations, floral arrangements, and centrepieces will all be influenced by your party theme. You can even encourage your guests to wear a specific colour or give them customised party gift bags based on the brunch theme.

SELECT DECORATIONS

Now that you’ve decided on a party theme, it’s time to choose decorations and prepare the brunch party’s setting. Will the meal be served buffet-style or will the visitors be seated at tables? Is this a big occasion brunch or just a typical brunch with friends?

You can customise the table setting, lighting, glasses, and food type based on the nature of the brunch. If it’s someone’s birthday, for example, you’ll need confetti, balloons, candles, birthday hats, and flowers, as well as decorations that will congratulate the person who is celebrating.

CONSIDER THE FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS.

Take your time arranging the meal and beverages because they are the cornerstone of a great brunch gathering. Ideally, one of each of the following dishes should be served:

  • A carbohydrate dish (pie, pastries with butter and jam, muffins, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, waffles)
  • A vegetable preparation (salads, grilled or steamed veggies, baked potatoes, vegetable lasagna)
  • A dish for the main course (meat, devilled eggs, cheese, quiche, sandwiches)
  • A dish made with fruit (fruit salad, fruit ice cream, popsicles, smoothies, fruit pizza, fruit pie, yoghurt parfait)
  • A dessert course (chocolate mousse, cake, cheesecake, ice cream, macarons, fruit tarts, cupcakes, lava cakes, cookies, energy balls)

Plan the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks after you’ve decided on the menu. Wine, cocktails, juices, sangria, iced tea, champagne, sparkling water, spritzer, and lemonade are all good options.

Important note: Before the event, ask your guests if they have any food sensitivities or allergies so you can properly design the menu and ensure that everyone’s needs are met.

Next, no brunch party is complete without a coffee station setup a coffee cart hire in Brisbane where visitors may chat while brewing a cup of freshly brewed coffee. You’ll also need a coffee maker, filters, coffee cups, spoons, sweetener, milk (dairy and non-dairy), and creamer, in addition to coffee.

ENTERTAIN THE PUBLIC

Plan for at least two hours of music, whether you’re hiring a DJ or playing music from your laptop. If you’re having the brunch in your lawn, you can play soft music in the background or hire a live singer or band.

You might also compile a list of entertaining games for everyone to play at the table or set up jars with conversation starters printed on them. If the party is buffet-style, put up a station with fun games and cards so that guests can choose the type of entertainment they wish to participate in.

NOW YOU CAN HOST A MEMORABLE BRUNCH PARTY IN YOUR OWN HOME.

Whether you’re hosting a simple brunch for your family at home or inviting your closest friends, we hope these ideas inspire you to throw the best brunch party ever.
