2022 NFC Conference Predictions!

by Sean Dixon

The Los Angeles Rams parlayed an NFC Conference victory into a Super Bowl title last season. The Rams head into the season second or third choice depending on what sportsbook you visit or the analysis you read.

The National Football League Conference doesn’t have many contenders. But the contenders they do have can beat the AFC winner and take home the Lombardi Trophy.

Top contenders include the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Rams, and the Green Bay Packers. Will any one of those teams win the conference? Or could a team like the New Orleans Saints or San Francisco 49ers upset the NFC’s Big Four? Keep reading for a conference analysis as well as a prediction.

Predictions for the NFC Conference in 2022

The New York Giants, not the Philadelphia Eagles, will challenge the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East

NFC East buzz this summer revolved around Philadelphia. During the NFL Draft’s first round, the Eagles traded for one of the best wide receivers in the league, former Tennessee Titans player A.J. Brown.

Brown provides quarterback Jalen Hurts another target. But the Giants made the most impactful move during the offseason when New York hired former Buffalo offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

Daboll has already made NYG fans giddy with excitement. The Bills former offensive coach turned Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen into a beast. He will do the same with Giants QB Daniel Jones, which is why NYG will challenge the Dallas Cowboys, not the Eagles.

Green Bay sweeps Minnesota for the NFC North title

Two-time defending NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers says Green Bay’s receiving unit has a long way to go before it resembles the one led by Davante Adams. Although Rodgers isn’t happy yet, it’s impossible to think of a situation where the Vikings beat Green Bay for the NFC North title.

No doubt, Minnesota’s offense will rock. Green Bay, though, has a much better defense. The Packers will sweep the Vikings and win the North.

In the NFC South, New Orleans upsets Tampa Bay for the division crown

Tom Brady retired and then unretired, which is why the Buccaneers are the second choice in most Las Vegas sportsbooks to win Super Bowl 57. However, Terrific Tom must play behind a new offensive line.

Not only that but Bucs coach Bruce Arians took a front office job. Tampa promoted 2021 defensive coordinator Todd Bowles to head coach.

The rival New Orleans Saints also have a new head coach. Like Tampa, New Orleans promoted their defensive coordinator, Dennis Allen, to the HC job.

The difference between the two best teams in the NFC South is that New Orleans added wide receiver Chris Olave via the draft and wideout Jarvis Landry via free agency. Also, the Saints’ offensive line should be better than the Buccaneers’.

In addition, New Orleans will field one of the best defenses in the NFL. This season, the Saints upset the Bucs and win the NFC South.

The NFC West goes to Trey Lance and the San Francisco 49ers

In 2021, nobody could argue that the NFC West was the best division in the league. The NFC West isn’t close to the best division this season.

After the Rams won the Super Bowl, Seattle traded Russell Wilson to Denver. Also, the Arizona Cardinals went through significant changes on the defensive side of the ball, and top wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins must sit out the first six games due to a suspension.

The Rams should be okay if Matthew Stafford’s elbow is one hundred percent. But the Rams won’t beat the San Francisco 49ers and win the NFC West.

Trey Lance, San Francisco’s new QB1, will dominate. The 6’ 4” and 224 pounds quarterback has rushing skills and a rocket arm. Lance will do more than enough for the Niners to beat the Rams and win the NFC West.

Cowboys battle the 49ers in the 2022 NFC Championship

Although the Giants will challenge the Cowboys, Dallas is too good on both sides of the ball to lose the NFC East. The Cowboys should grab the 1-seed in the conference playoffs.

Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb will be a huge story this season. The Dallas defense will excel under second-year player Micah Parsons. The Cowboys are a legit conference contender.

Dallas will face Lance and the 49ers in the NFC Championship. San Francisco should push the Boys, but in the end, Dallas prevails and marches to Super Bowl 57.
