It’s been over 55 years since Dr. Martin Luther King Junior. gave his world-shifting “I Possess A Dream” speech around the steps from the Lincoln subsequently Memorial in 1963. Like a kid, the narrative I had been trained in class relating to this speech brought me to think that racism and discrimination were eradicated altogether using the signing from the Civil Legal rights Act of 1964, enacted only a year after King’s speech.
