Four Examples of Mobile Billboard Advertising!

by Glenn Maxwell

Mobile advertising is relatively new but hugely successful, and it consists of advertising located on buses, cabs, and even personal vehicles. With mobile ads from an agency like Movia, you have a captive audience because thousands of people will see the ads at any given time. As long as you’re driving the vehicle, the ad is being exposed to a lot of people. The heavier the traffic is in the area, the more effective the billboards will be. If you’ve never heard of mobile billboards and aren’t sure what they are, below are four of the most popular types used today:

  1. Truckside Advertising

If you’ve ever passed by a huge 18-wheeler on the interstate and seen the entire side of the truck plastered with promotional material, you’ve just witnessed a mobile billboard. The ads are usually printed on both sides of the truck and sometimes on the back as well. Some of them have lighting so you can see the ads after dark, and the product can be the products being hauled by the trucking company or something else entirely. While this form of mobile advertising is a little expensive, it is well worth it if you intend to advertise with them for extended periods of time.

  1. Digital Billboards

Not all mobile billboards are made out of standard vinyl components. Some are like large television sets and can even advertise more than one item on the side of a truck or trailer. While some of these ads remain still the entire time, many others are like television shows or TV ads that show the passersby a moving advertisement. They’re large and colourful and definitely attract attention, and their only drawback is that some people consider it distracting instead of entertaining. Nevertheless, this is a very successful type of mobile advertising that all sorts of businesses consider a great return on investment (ROI).

  1. Trailer Billboards

These billboards are thinner than other types and can be printed on one or both sides. They are attached to a truck and sometimes sit in front of the business or store as an added advantage, or they can be driven around by the truck for short or long periods of time. Some of these billboards are lit with LED lights in case it gets dark, and they look like a large trailer attached to a truck. These are good for short-term advertising campaigns and easy to install and remove. In addition, they tend to be about 400 square feet in size, so they’re not super-large.

  1. Vehicle Wraps

Most of the time, vehicle wraps are used on cars and some mass transit vehicles, and they are usually applied in vinyl sheets. Some of these ads, however, can be painted on the vehicle instead. In either case, these types of mobile billboards work extremely well because the vehicles are driven in large busy cities. They can be a bit costly to use, but they attract a lot of attention and are very current because they advertise new products, new movies, and so much more. Vehicle wraps are hugely successful and always reach tons of people throughout the campaign.
